Here are some designs that I have been working on for the brief 'Oriental Opulance' for the online competition at 'Beta Fashion' I have incorporated my hand drawn and painted style in to an oriental theme, inspired by traditional woodblock prints, wisteria trees and classic chinoiserie. My stall featured on The Art Market video

Here is a lovely video with some great clips from the Art Markets in June, where I had my first retail stall. It was such a great atmosphere, with freindly people and lots of quality, quirky pieces of work, oh and wonderful, chilled live music.

Design Process: Painting

I start each of my designs, initially through drawing and painting. Here I have begun from a quick sketch from a photograph that I took at a botanical garden, and then started painting it with watercolours exploring different techniques and brushstrokes. This is my usual method of starting the design process and the original artworks always influence the direction of the design. The painting and drawing process is really vital part to me and distinctive of my style; I always want it to be central to my designing and a focal part of my final products.
